Our Board-Up and Tarping Standards
LPR does not use lightweight tarps secured with bungee cords or tape. Our standards:
Roof tarping
6-mil or heavier polyethylene tarps secured with structural attachment to the roof decking — not to the shingles — using a method designed to withstand sustained wind loads appropriate to Houston's weather environment. Edges are secured and weighted to prevent flapping, tearing, or uplift.
Window and door board-up
Exterior-grade plywood cut to fit each opening, secured to the structural framing surrounding the opening — not to the window frame or trim. This provides actual protection against weather and forced entry, not just visual coverage.
Documentation throughout
We photograph the damage condition before, during, and after board-up installation. This documentation is essential for your insurance claim — it captures the initial damage state that temporary protection is preserving for adjuster review.
